About
John Edward Ellis’ work has been featured in Relief Journal, Able Muse Review, Embodied Effigies Magazine, Ginosko Literary Journal, Jonah Magazine, and elsewhere. His memoir, An Argonaut’s Anthology for a Once and Future Kingdom, about teaching underprivileged youth in San Francisco and traversing the Mojave Desert, is forthcoming.
Ellis is the recipient of a grant from the Fulbright Program and a fellowship from Saint Mary’s College of California, where he earned an M.F.A. A former U.S. Soldier and Paratrooper, he serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Veterans Studies, the only scholarly journal dedicated to the study of military veterans. Ellis’ other projects include podcasting on matters of culture, politics, and philosophy through the lens of the Christian faith.
Ellis grew up in West Africa, Europe, and the Northeastern United States; as an adult, he lived for eleven years in San Francisco. Currently, he lives in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area with his wife and daughter.
